At The Divergent Space, we’re committed to creating a neuro‑affirmative service that feels safe, respectful and genuinely supportive. This commitment guides everything we do, and hearing directly from clients helps us stay grounded in that value. Below are some of the comments people have shared about what worked well for them.
What worked well for you?
The assessment environment and assessor were very tailored, and feeling comfortable was the first priority. This aided the whole process and meant things were as smooth as possible, despite it being a difficult thing to go through.
The privacy of the room, the kindness and affirmation, and the fact that the person themselves has a personal understanding of the issues.
I felt very comfortable and safe. The psychologist was very nice.
Becky was very kind, supportive, and professional. I never felt rushed during the screening or assessment, and it was a truly supportive space throughout. Thank you.
The pace, the plan, and the environment. Becky made me feel so comfortable it didn’t feel like I was being tested. It felt really natural.
Communication with my clinician, both in person and over the phone. The style of interview and the environment the screening took place in were calm, welcoming, and attractive. It didn’t feel sterile or clinical, and I felt able to be myself. The communication around the draft report, final report, and feedback session left plenty of space for me to fully understand how and why the diagnosis was given. I really appreciated being given the time and space to understand the assessment process and work through my questions and doubts in enough depth to accept the conclusions reached.
A clear, open, and accessible environment to discuss possible conditions, followed by a well-communicated assessment process with clarity at every step.
I really appreciated the accommodations Becky made, such as keeping me updated by email and providing clear deadlines. This helped prevent me from constantly checking and worrying, which made the process much more manageable.
I couldn’t have wished for a better assessment or diagnostic experience. I felt I really connected with my clinician, which allowed me to open up and share relevant information, as well as challenge things I didn’t understand. I often struggle to communicate vulnerability and my internal experiences, so it was a great relief to feel at ease throughout. Despite coming from very different cultural and ethnic backgrounds, this didn’t feel like a barrier to understanding or working together. Thank you for your generosity and expertise.
Thank you to our clients for sharing their experiences and allowing us to share them here.
