Hello, my name is Amanda, I am an autism consultant and life coach.
I qualified as a Social Worker at Salford University, in 2004, then completed both my post graduate degree and Masters in Autism Spectrum at Sheffield Hallam. I am registered with Social Work England, and I am trained in the use of ADOS-2 and ADI-R diagnostic tools.
My experience in the field of autism is broad, I have worked with, for and alongside autistic children and adults for 30yrs.
I have spent most of my career working at a senior level for a national autism charity, where I currently support a project working with HM Probation Services, aimed at improving the support of neurodivergent people on probation, and reducing the risk of re-offending.
I am able to offer a range of post diagnostic support, including life coaching, for autistic individuals and their families. For example:
· Post diagnostic support aimed at helping autistic individuals and/ or their families to better understand an autistic diagnosis
· Consultation and support for families, or services, wanting to improve their understanding of, and communication with, an autistic person.
· Individual support in developing strategies to successfully navigate challenges at home, and in school, college and/or work or social situations.
· Help recognising the need for reasonable adjustments, and support in negotiating these with work, services etc.
· Support at professional’s meetings.
